Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate-do Kyokai

ABOUT US
The Port Elizabeth OGKK dojo is run under the leadership of Sensei Adrian and Natalie May (Sandan) we are the only Goju Ryu dojo in Port Elizabeth.
The OGKK strives to follow the teachings of Master Chojun Miyagi, found of Goju Ryu Karate.
Master Chojun Miyagi named the style Goju-Ryu in 1930, after his top student, Jin’an Shinzato, attended a martial arts convention in Tokyo. The style had no name at that point, and on his return home, Master Chojun Miyagi decided to call his style Goju-Ryu (hard and soft school) Go-meaning hard and Ju-meaning soft. The way of inhaling and exhaling is hardness and softness, this is also demonstrated in the circular movements of Goju Ryu Karate.
